Installation Instructions: Ladder Clamp (ALB10003)

The Ladder Clamp consists of a lock mechanism, that mounts at the rear of the rack (tail gate end) and a front Locator Hook unit that mounts to the Ladder Cross Channel or front rack end (cab side).  Both of these assemblies require spring nuts to mount to the rack.  (Tip: Apply a drop of Lock Tite to all the hex bolts before sending them through the Hex Nuts.Allow it to dry for 24 hours to ensure the nuts will not loosen.)

Place Ladder Clamp Clamp Housing in place, hooking the top hook over the rack end (tailgate end of vehicle).  If there is a Plastic Protection Cover on the rack end, simply hook it over the plastic as well.  Attach the “L” Bracket to the Clamp Housing using the 5/16-18 x 1” Hex Bolts, the 5/16” Flat Washers, and the 5/16’ Nyloc Hex Nuts.  Place the Spring Nut into the rear channel and position it “in” about 6” from the top rail.  Place the Ladder Clamp unit lower “L” bracket into place.  Insert the 1 Ό” Hex Bolt through the 5/16” Flat Washer and into the Spring Nut loosely tighten.  See that the unit is square to the rack end and tighten completely.  The first stage of the installation is complete.  Move on to the front Locator Hook.

Now, you need to mount the Locator Hook to the Ladder Cross Channel or the front rack end.Mount the hook in the same manner as you did the Ladder Clamp unit, by using a Spring Nut and 1 Ό” Hex Bolt.  If you are mounting to a Ladder Cross Channel, you can adjust it to capture the rung of the ladder at the front and hold a rung at the rear with the Ladder Clamp unit.
